Uijeongbu Acne Laser: In-depth Comparison of AccuToning and Derma V (feat. Ethosome PTT)

April 8, 2026

Hello!

I am Dr. Hyuk-chan Cho, Director of Cleor Clinic Uijeongbu Branch.

There is a conversation that repeats several times a day in the consultation room.

"Doctor, honestly, the marks are more stressful than the acne itself.

The acne subsides, but the marks stay for too long."

"I wash my face diligently,

and I don't eat irritating foods, but I don't know why it keeps breaking out."

Those who have suffered from acne for a long time commonly

go through a certain stage.

At first, the acne itself was the concern, but from a certain point,

the marks and traces left by acne become a bigger concern.

As a result, when visiting a dermatologist,

many people start by asking, 'Which procedure is right for me?'

Today, I will explain two procedures frequently recommended at our Uijeongbu acne clinic,

Accutoning and Derma V Acne Toning, categorized by the type of concern.

Acne and Acne Marks: Different Approaches

The concerns of those visiting the dermatology clinic can be broadly divided into two categories.

One is the active acne currently breaking out.

Excessive sebum secretion, clogged pores,

and the proliferation of acne bacteria lead to repeated inflammation.

What is needed here is to regulate sebum secretion

and create a skin environment where inflammation is less likely to occur.

The other is the traces left after acne has passed.

Red marks, dark pigmentation, and an overall uneven skin tone.

In this case, the approach changes toward clearing the pigment itself

and refining the skin texture.

Even if they seem like the same acne concern, the causes and conditions differ,

which is why the choice of procedure also changes.

For some, both are a concern at the same time.

Accutoning

Laser that directly targets sebaceous glands

Accutoning is a procedure that uses a high-power laser with a 1450nm wavelength.

This wavelength is well-absorbed by moisture and oil in the skin,

allowing thermal energy to be delivered to the sebaceous glands located deep in the dermis.

When heat is applied to the sebaceous glands, excessive sebum production is regulated,

and with repeated treatments, it works by accumulating

gradual changes within the sebaceous glands themselves.

👉In addition to sebum control, it stimulates the dermis to induce collagen production,

contributing to the tightening of the area around the pores.

Therefore, it is a procedure that can be approached by those who feel

their pores have enlarged due to excessive sebum.

When too much water is pouring from a faucet,

instead of constantly wiping the overflowing water,

it is a similar concept to lowering the water pressure itself.

Accutoning focusesnot on wiping away sebum, but on regulating

the amount of sebum produced.

  • Accutoning Pain

In terms of pain, there is little burden in returning to daily life.

In many cases, the procedure is possible without topical anesthesia,

and although there may be slight redness or heat immediately after the procedure,

most of it subsides within a few hours.

Face washing and makeup are possible from the same day.

Recommended for

  • Those with excessive sebum and recurring acne

  • Those who feel their pores have enlarged

  • Those who want to regulate their skin condition without taking medication

  • Those who need to return to daily life immediately after the procedure

Recommended Cycle: 1–2 week intervals, 3 or more sessions recommended

Derma V Acne Toning

A procedure to clear traces left by acne

👉Derma V is a procedure we first suggest to those whose main concerns

are red marks or brown pigmentation left in areas where acne has already subsided, rather than active acne.

rather than active acne.

Since it is not a method that uses strong energy all at once,

it causes less skin irritation, making it relatively comfortable even for those with sensitive skin

or a weakened skin barrier.

When editing an old photo, if you suddenly increase brightness and saturation all at once,

it looks unnatural, but if you build up layers little by little,

it is similar to how it becomes naturally refined.

Similarly, Derma V Acne Toning works by gradually fading pigments through repeated treatments,

leading to an overall uniform skin tone.

The procedure time is short and there is almost no disruption to daily life,

making it a treatment that even busy professionals can maintain consistently without much burden.

Recommended for

  • Those more concerned about remaining marks and pigmentation than the acne itself

  • Those with an overall uneven skin tone

  • Those with sensitive skin who find high-irritation procedures burdensome

  • Those who want gradual improvement through consistent care

Recommended Cycle: 2-week intervals

Comparison at a Glance

If active acne is the concern, Accutoning; if remaining marks and tone are the concern, Derma V.

If both are concerns, we plan them together.

Both procedures are sometimes planned simultaneously. The combination method is determined after consultation based on skin condition.

Pre- and Post-Procedure Precautions

There are common instructions to follow for both procedures.

Sun protection is the most important factor after the procedure.

Because laser-treated skin becomes more reactive to UV rays,

it is recommended to reapply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every 3 to 4 hours

when going out.

In particular, since Derma V Acne Toning is aimed at pigment improvement,

neglecting UV protection can cause the pigment to darken again.

Please avoid saunas, jjimjilbangs, strenuous exercise, and alcohol for 3 to 7 days after the procedure.

Slight redness or heat may appear immediately after the procedure, but it is mostly temporary.

It is also important to use moisturizer frequently to prevent the skin from becoming dry.

Please refrain from squeezing acne with your hands, regardless of the procedure.

This often causes bacteria to spread, leading to pigmentation and scarring.

At Cleor Clinic Uijeongbu Branch, in addition to laser treatments,

we also offer Ethosome PTT treatments.

This is a method that penetrates nanoparticles deep into the sebaceous glands

and regulates the acne bacteria environment through laser thermal reaction,

approaching acne through a different pathway than standard lasers.

Depending on the skin condition, it can be combined with Accutoning or Derma V,

or used as a standalone treatment. If you are interested, please let us know during your consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I receive both procedures together?

Depending on the skin condition, they are sometimes planned together.

If you have recurring acne along with remaining marks,

we may perform both or set a sequence for the treatments.

The specific sequence and combination will be decided after checking your skin condition during your visit.

Q. Is Accutoning painful?

It varies depending on individual skin conditions,

but in many cases, the procedure is possible without topical anesthesia.

You may feel a slight sensation of heat,

but it is at a level that allows for immediate return to daily life.

Q. Is Derma V Acne Toning effective for melasma?

Laser toning-based procedures can be applied to melasma,

but melasma has a high recurrence rate and is difficult to treat.

If you are concerned about both acne marks and melasma, please let us know during your consultation.

The approach may differ.

Q. How many sessions are needed to see a difference?

It depends on the skin condition and the type of procedure,

but many people notice a difference after 3 or more sessions of Accutoning

and 5 or more sessions of Derma V Acne Toning.

Rather than expecting dramatic changes from a single session,

a consistent treatment plan is important.

Q. Can I receive treatment even if I have a lot of active breakouts?

In some cases, it is possible to proceed by adjusting the procedure method according to the skin condition.

The more severe the acne, the more beneficial it is to receive an early consultation

for scar prevention, so we recommend not delaying your visit.

If you are looking for an acne clinic in Uijeongbu,

it is better to first consider 'What is the main concern of my skin right now?'

rather than 'I heard a certain procedure is famous.'

Whether it is active acne breaking out now

or marks already left behind, the approach and choice of procedure will change.

To find out whether Accutoning or Derma V Acne Toning is right for your current condition,

we will check your skin directly at Cleor Clinic Uijeongbu Branch

and create a plan together. 😊
